The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has revealed that preparations are in the final stages to purchase and bring in 100 electric buses into the nation before the year concludes.
Dr Bawumia indicated that this effort seeks to lower carbon emissions in order to combat climate change and tackle increasing transportation expenses.
During a meeting with members of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Dr. Bawumia stated that the implementation of electronic buses will involve a collaboration between the government and private sector.
He also noted that the government intends to build charging stations at different fueling stations to assist the incoming fleet of buses.
