THIS DISRESPECT MUST STOP – Kweku Flick Rants After His Performance Was Cut-Off At ‘Shay Concert’

Singer and Rapper, Kweku Flick has spoken out following an unplanned interruption that ended his performance at Wendy Shay’s recent “Shay Concert,”

In a post, he said that the occurrence was disappointing and that it was a part of a larger issue that artists still confront in the business.

Flick wrote on X that he respected and loved Wendy Shay, whom he called his “sissy,” thus he decided not to publicly respond during the incident.

However, he acknowledged that the sudden cut to his set, which he claims occurred when the audience was still actively enjoying his performance, had disturbed him.

He claimed that while the audience was enjoying his performance, someone at the event—possibly the DJ or another stage operator—cut off his microphone.

“I’m very calm,” he wrote, adding that his patience should not give anyone the impression they can silence him mid-performance.

“Some people were happy enjoying my performance, unaware cut off??”

Kweku Flick emphasised the dangers and work needed in making such excursions as an artist, revealing that he had travelled from Kumasi for the event only to be received with what he deemed “disrespect.”

He cautioned that his reaction might not be as restrained if a similar incident occurs again.

Nevertheless, the “Money” hitmaker acknowledged that history was made that evening and took the opportunity to congratulate Wendy Shay on the event’s success. He also prayed for more blessings.

Kweku Flick explained that his article was intended to draw attention to a recurrent issue that many musicians have encountered at many events rather than to disparage the Shay Concert itself.

According to him, problems like sudden cut-offs shouldn’t be accepted at any concert.

“This is not the first and last concert on earth, and it’s something that has been happening to so many great artists,” he wrote, urging event organisers to do better.
