2024 BUDGET: WE HAVE INVESTED GH₵32.7BN TO KEEP THE LIGHTS ON – Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta

Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has stated that the government has made significant efforts over the past seven years to ensure a stable power supply and keep the lights on in the country.

Delivering the 2024 Budget in Parliament on Wednesday, he noted that the government has “invested GH¢32.7 billion to keep the lights on.”

This statement reflects the government’s commitment to addressing challenges in the energy sector and providing a reliable electricity supply to support economic activities.

The assurance comes amid ongoing efforts to enhance the energy infrastructure and improve the overall power situation in Ghana.

According to him, the government has also made other investments such as investing GH¢25.3 billion to facilitate the repositioning of the financial sector and enhance its ability to assist business operations.
