2028 POLLS WILL BE TOUGH AND NICE, NDC’S FATE HINGES ON MAHAMA’S DECISION — Prophet Uche

Renowned cleric Prophet Eric Boahen Uche has described Ghana’s 2028 general elections as one that will be “tough and nice,” signalling an intensely competitive political contest ahead.

Speaking on national discourse, the prophet suggested that the fate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 polls will largely depend on its choice of presidential candidate.

According to him, if the party does not present former President John Dramani Mahama again, its chances will be determined by other critical factors, including the strength, credibility and national appeal of whoever leads the party.

Prophet Uche noted that Mahama remains a dominant political figure whose experience and influence still resonate strongly with voters, making the decision to retain or replace him a major strategic call for the NDC.

His remarks add to growing conversations around succession, party strategy and leadership choices as political watchers begin to look ahead to what is shaping up to be a highly charged 2028 election season.
