5,000KM OF ROADS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED IN 166 CONSTITUENCIES OVER 3 YEARS – Ato Forson

Over three years, the Mahama-led government will build 5,000 kilometers of roads in 166 constituencies, according to Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
He claims that 166 constituencies with pressing needs will be the focus of the road project.
He disclosed that in each of the chosen constituencies, the government will repair 10 kilometers of roads every year.
“The government has identified 166 constituencies in dire need of road infrastructure. In response, we have programmed to rehabilitate 10km of roads annually in each of these constituencies,” he told Parliament.
“Mr. Speaker, this translates to about 5,000km of roads to be reconstructed in these 166 constituencies over the next three years,” he added.
He also denied allegations that the Mahama government was not making any expenditures.
Ato Forson emphasized that while the Mahama administration is spending, it is doing so in the appropriate areas.
Ato Forson claims that they had distributed GH¢114.5 billion in cash from the Consolidated Fund between January and June 2025.
He disclosed that GH¢84.2 billion is the total amount of non-interest expenses.
Ato Forson added that payments have been made across various important areas since the beginning of 2025.
