Adjei Owusu Afriyie, 53, was taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service for allegedly selling alcohol at a small tavern in Akyeremade, Kumasi, that was allegedly laced with drugs.
Police sources claim that when officers found barrels of akpeteshie, bottles of Alomo Bitters, gin, and amounts of sobolo thought to be laced with marijuana and other drugs, the suspect was taken into custody at “De-Vicky’s” tavern.
According to reports, the cocktails were being offered to unwary patrons.
According to the police, investigations are still being conducted to determine the entire scope of the alleged operation and to pursue additional legal action if needed.
