SALMA MUMIN FOUNDATION PAYS HOSPITAL BILLS FOR THE NEEDY IN NORTHERN REGION

Actress and Entrepreneur, Salma Mumin, has again celebrated her birthday with her Foundation’s annual philanthropy project work. This year saw payment of hospital bills for the less-privileged patients stranded at two different hospitals in the Northern Region.

Founded in 2017 with an inspiration of giving to society, the Foundation seeks to touch lives through little but effective ways in hopes to put smiles on the faces of street children and the less-privileged, knowing and believing that the little things in life often taken for granted else where, make a lot of difference somewhere.

The Foundation since it’s inception, has not missed a year without lending a hand of support to mark the birthday of the Actress and Entrepreneur, except in 2020 when COVID-19 brought the world on it’s knees with restrictions and lockdowns.

The maiden edition of the Foundation’s work in 2017 happened in Accra, where Salma Mumin and her team spent some time to support and feed street kids at Mallam Atta Market at Accra Newtown. In 2018 the charity work took place in James town, Accra Central and in 2019, the support went home to WA in the Upper West Region where Salma comes from, with a lot of support from donors and sponsors who supported the Foundation make donations to two different schools ranging from learning materials to food items and beverages.

This year again, the actress went back home. Salma Mumin’s early-life experience in Wa, the capital of the Upper Westest Region of Ghana, where she was born and raised, is and will remain the reason she understands the essence of lending out a helping hand to those who need it. It is also the reason she works even harder to make a difference in her own life and also make a positive impact in society .

“The North is not just home. It is deprived of even the basic needs of life and this requires all of us Northerners to look back when we are in the position to help in any little way we can.” Salma said.

On 15th December, a day after her birthday; the Salma Mumin foundation team flew to the North and visited two major hospitals; Wa Regional Hospital and Wa Minimal Hospital to interact with patients and also pay the hospital bills of several of them who remained stranded there due to their inability to foot their debt. The foundation got the support of the Regional Minister of the region. The actress also paid a courtesy call to the Wa Naa who was pleased with the young woman’s drive to always support her hometown. Both the Wa Naa and the Regional Minister applauded and commended her efforts.

Salma Mumin concluded, the Foundation may be her initiative but it is more a point of contact for the general public who wish to support humanitarian courses like she does, especially the Northern part of Ghana.
