GHANA’S ECONOMIC CHALLENGES NOT MY FAULT, BLAME COVID– Akufo Addo to Ghanaians

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has refuted claims that his government is responsible for hardship and economic stress in Ghana.

According to the President, these claims are only made by people who want to make money through politics. Ghbase.com reports

President Akufo-Addo said on Tuesday, January 25, that people who call themselves “political detractors” make these kinds of claims because they keep them relevant.

It’s possible that some people don’t think that the problems that the country is having now have anything to do with the pandemic of Covid-19. They say they are only a problem in Ghana because of poor economic management.

The facts of the situation don’t back up this argument, so I’m not bothered by it at all.” President Akufo-Addo said that he understands why these falsehoods have to be kept up for politics’ sake.

He also said that COVID-19 has slowed down economic progress in both Ghana and other countries big and small around the world. It’s not to look for an excuse, but to say what’s clear. It is sad, but it is true.
