Celebrated Gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong has disclosed that his 41 years of singing have not paid off as expected.
Despite his lack of money, he expresses gratitude to God for the little he has created, as well as the gift of life and health.
He confessed this on Kumasi’s Angel Fm, saying he began music as a hobby, not a business.
“Music was not the same when we began. We have not benefited as much as the music. My first record was released in 1981, when music was less established. Music has given us everything we have today, despite the fact that it has not paid off. Many people, especially in Arab nations, call me I am not referring to people from Japan, USA, etc. The future is bigger and I trust God to make it better”, he confessed.
The artist remains optimistic about the future, despite the fact that no producer has paid him for any of his 27 albums.
