A female footballer named Matilda Assabil has unofficially earned recognition as the youngest female footballer in Africa and probably Africa.
Seasoned journalist Saddick Adams, aka Sports Obama put the spotlight on the youngsters who is said to be just 10yrs old. Obama shared a photo of the girl on social media and wrote;
“Matilda Assabil, a 10-year-old who plays for Ghana women’s division one team Starlet Ladies according to @SistaAfia_
As the youngest footballer in the Women’s Leagues, she is probably the youngest professional women’s footballer in Africa, if not the world. ????”
