Ghanaian songstress, Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, better known as Cina Soul, expressed her delight and pleasure when highlife rapper Akwaboah contacted her to collaborate on his smash song “Obiaa.”
Working with Akwaboah has been a lifelong goal for Cina Soul, told Amansan Krakye of Cape Coast-based Kastle FM.
She said on the Kastle Entertainment Show that she “remembers very clearly when Akwaboah phoned me because I had always wanted to sing a song with him.”
Even when I was in school in Legon approximately four years ago, Akwaboah knew my elder sister, so he came to my house and said he’d perform a song with me one day, she recalled.
“So that’s been in my thoughts for a long time,” she said, “and when he phoned, I asked when I should come. Is it tomorrow? Good, I’ll be there.”
Cina Soul added, “I didn’t even want to hear the music; I simply knew it was time since I’d always wanted to record a song with Akwaboah.”
