The Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has assured Ghanaians that before President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo completes his second term, things will improve.
In the past six months, the economy of the nation has gotten worse, causing great suffering for the populace.
Recent findings from a fact-finding visit in Ghana by a team from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) revealed that the country is grappling with a severe economic and social condition in an increasingly challenging global climate.
On Monday, July 25, when he presented the 2022 Mid-year Fiscal Policy Budget Review to Parliament, Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta emphasized that the government has the power to make things better.
He assured the legislature that President Akufo-administration Addo’s will address the nation’s economic problems in the following 2.5 years.
Mr. Speaker, just as we did in 2017 and 2020, government is resolved to continue to provide the necessary leadership to turn the economy around.
“Let me assure you that on behalf of the President that we will do it again in the next two and a half years.
“We will continue with great cautiousness, thoughtfulness, creativity, and grit,” Ken Ofori-Atta told Parliament.
The Finance Minister continued, “The fiscal and debt situation has severely worsened following the Covid-19 pandemic.”
