The fast thinking of a good Samaritan who rushed to rescue a 3-year-old child after she fell from the window of a six-story building before she could crash-land saved her life.
According to reports, the terrifying tragedy took place on July 19, 2022, in the Chinese province of Zhejiang.
Zhao Lijiang, a spokesperson for the Chinese foreign ministry, posted a CCTV footage of the incident on Twitter on Friday and praised the man, who was universally hailed as a hero.
The man can be seen making a phone call in the video before abruptly hanging up and racing toward the building in question.
He stumbles when he gets closer to the building’s base as a result of his rapid progress and sudden stop. The child is securely grabbed in the air by him after extending his arms, preventing her from falling to the earth.
According to the man, who told Chinese media outlets how he was able to save the toddler’s life, he heard a thud coming from the top of the apartment building and glanced up to find the young child falling out of the window.
