“I’M NOT STINGY, I JUST DON’T LIKE GIVING MONEY ON CAMERA” – Sarkodie

Award-winning and celebrated Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie, has expressed his dislike for certain aspects of the music industry.

The lead vocalist of ‘Don’t Cry’ stated that whenever he was given money as assistance, he hated the concept of cameras being pointed at him.

Sarkodie has faced criticism for for not being polite enough for years. In contrast to some of his musical contemporaries, he does not monetarily support his audience.

The well-known Hip-Hop artist debunked the accusations in a recent chat with South African musician Mac G.

In an interview with South Africa’s biggest podcast network, “Podcast and Chill,” the rapper reiterated his catchphrase, “money no be problem,” and noted that disclosing the assistance he offers others does not reflect who he is.

He claimed, “I am not stingy, I don’t just like giving money on camera,” because, in his opinion, it is disrespectful to tell the media after lending someone a helping hand.

Sarkodie asserted that Africans have an unshakeable love for them despite the fact that it is obvious that individuals who publicly hand them cash have ulterior purposes.

“I don’t want to call Ghanaians, but I believe Africans adore it when people come and throw money; those are the individuals they prefer even when they have evil intentions you like them and you end up in problems.”
