Lyrical Joe, a rapper from Ghana, has admitted that he quit school in JHS2 after the deaths of his parents. But he taught himself using online resources.
Lyrical Joe lost both his parents when he was quite young. His decision to stop attending classes was a direct result of the experience.
The rapper, however, recognized the importance of education and made an active effort to better himself academically.
I dropped out of JHS2, he told Cookie on TV3 NewDay’s entertainment show.
It’s simply one of those tragic events that unfortunately occur from time to time. Unfortunately, I had to grow up without either of my parents. Also, I never thought that learning was limited to the classroom. So I thought, “Yeah, you still need to learn.
Many people know Joseph Gamor better as his stage moniker, Lyrical. Joe used the internet as a daily opportunity to educate and improve himself.
He didn’t spend all of his time on social media, but he did take advantage of every possible chance to educate himself.
I mean out in public and at every available chance. For instance, the internet is available, and everyone has their own technique for navigating it. In a variety of contexts, its application is common. It’s not like I’d spend all day every day on social media.
Reading is essential. Educate yourself. As soon as you get the news, you should dive right in, even if it means leaving Ghana behind. Where and what else is happening right now? That’s how you keep your mind so open, and it’s exactly what I’ve been doing, too.”
