Ghanaian Stand-up comedian of Nigerian descent, Jacinta Ocansey, has talked about her anxieties and the reasons she was hesitant to host her own program.
Jacinta admitted that she never imagined her just concluded “One Night Stand” show, a sold-out event she organized over the weekend, would be a hit.
After the presentation, Jacinta told a reporter from Ghanaweb that she feels as though a weight has been lifted off her shoulder because the show had been keeping her up at night.
“I feel great, fulfilled, happy. I feel like a weight has been lifted from me. I have always had the fear of doing my own show but today I feel like I have finally been able to do it. I have a solid team, the guys I worked with were just mind-blowing and they were able to do it.”
“There were so many times that I asked if we could do this show and my producer will tell me to relax. I’m happy that we’ve done it,” she maintained.
The show which took place this weekend saw other industry players come to support Jacinta. Some fellow comedians who showed up were Foster Romanus, OB Amponsah, Clemto Suarez, Parrot Mouth, and others.
