Justice Oteng, also known as Wei Ye Oteng, a renowned music beat producer, has asserted that anyone associated with Burna Boy, a Grammy Award winner, attracts attention from the general population.
Remember how Burna Boy became interested in Black Sherif after he released his well-known song “Second Sermon”? A few weeks after the album’s release, Burna Boy could be seen dancing to the song “Black Sherif” in a popular video.
Later, the two worked together to remix Second Sermond and release it. They also created a music video for the song. Along with Black Sherif, Burna Boy was spotted traveling the US.
Because of their connection, Wei Ye Oteng has expressed the idea that Black Sherif became more well-known as a result of his association with Burna Boy.
“Black Sherif is good. I mean, the likes of Kwadee were unique just like Black Sherif is, but whichever sound they had, or playing around with, was already in there. So we appreciate that. Now, if you have an affiliation with Burna Boy just upon releasing two songs into the mainstream, the whole world would want to listen to you”, he said in an interview on Showbiz 927.
“The whole world would want to know what is under your sleeve, not because they believe that you are extremely the “ish” (good), but they know that you are positive and you are on the path to greatness and that you need support.
“So, everything that you do, based on the type of affiliation you have, they troop in to come and listen and then to make their own judgment”.
