Vicky Zugah, an actress, said that actors and actresses need to have additional sources of income because the local film industry cannot provide all of their financial support.
Vicky claims that instead of relying entirely on movie parts, she has always advised aspiring actors to look for employment or other professions that may support them financially.
“If a young person approaches me to talk about their interest in acting, I will advise the person to have another means of income.
“I will guide them to have another profession on the side because depending merely on movies is not advisable because it is not reliable,” she noted in an interview with Graphic Showbiz.
The Ghanaian actress, who also works as a television host, also addressed the declining box office in Ghana’s film industry.
But she was hoping that things would change for the better so that actors and filmmakers could live the better life they deserved for their work.
“The current movie industry in Ghana is not something you can solely depend on. It could get better but for now, it is better to get something on the side to keep you going,” she urged.
