Money is the least important prerequisite, according to award-winning promoter and manager Elorm Beenie, when selecting an artist to manage or promote.
Elorm Beenie told Giovani on the 3FM Drive that a musician who wants to break through must first have love and drive for music.
Additionally, as the talent’s career develops, he or she must be prepared to unlearn most of what they have learned and open to learning new things.
“First you should have the drive or the passion. Number two, you should be ready and willing to learn, and you should be ready to unlearn, and you should be ready to re-learn on the journey,” he said.
While many people rank money and finance as the top needs, according to Elorm, those are actually secondary.
“There are people who bring money, but the content is chaff. I have a standard to keep. So I can’t say because of money, I will look into that. Aside from budget, what am I pushing?” he quizzed.
Elorm Beenie is confident that all the artists will generate trash instead of music if these conditions are not met.
Elorm Beenie is an artist manager and promoter who currently works with two times Grammy Nominated artist Rocky Dawuni.
