A member of parliament from Assin Central reportedly threatened the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to which he belongs, stating that he has video evidence of key officials being financially corrupted.
The threat was made explicitly in reference to undercover recordings that the MP claims to have in his possession after intercepting them from investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
He claimed that although the president and chief of staff had already heard the content of the infamous audio recording, he would still proceed to present it to Ghanaians.
“If NPP fools around, I will show the video, I’m only holding on to the video, if anyone doubts me, I will show it. On the 8th of February, these evil boys, recorded ministers and lawyers in Dubai,” Ken is heard saying on tape.
“I’ve showed it to the President, Chief of Staff, if you misbehave, I will show it to the whole Ghana. You have the nerves to defend a criminal like that and come and insult me?” he added.
The aforementioned tape was apparently taken last week outside the Accra High Court’s grounds after Kennedy Agyapong was found not guilty in a defamation case the investigative journalist had filed against him.
According to information from a leaked tape taken after the court sessions, the Member of Parliament is heard cursing at the attorney who seems to have offended him.
The MP kept stressing that he had been labelled a murderer and wouldn’t tolerate any such comments, even though it is still unknown what caused his actions and incited his rage.
He challenged the lawyer’s professionalism while calling him names.
