DKB, a stage name for comedian Derrick Kobina Bonney, is not pleased with the change made to Twitter verification.
Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Twitter, declared a few weeks ago that non-paying users’ accounts would lose their blue ticks.
The businessman decided to do this after purchasing the bird app.
In response to this, DKB stated he will not purchase any Twitter verification in a post seen by Zionfelix.net.
He said that paying for confirmation would diminish his celebrity.
DKB wrote: “To be honest, as a CELEBRITY, if I buy this twitter verification, I have undermined my status. Recognition can be bought but not authentic.
Would U let a doctor who didn’t go to medical school but bought a medical school PhD operate on U? I worked hard to become a CELEBRITY.????.”
He is part of the celebrities in Ghana who have lost their verifications.
