SARKODIE OWES YVONNE NELSON AND BOOK READERS AN APOLOGY’ – Paul Adom Otchere

Paul Adom Otchere, host of Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, to add his voice to the Yvonne Nelson and Sarkodie brouhaha. According to him, Sarkodie,’s response to Yvonne Nelson, was inappropriate.

In response to Yvonne Nelson’s memoir where she accused the rapper of impregnating her and refusing to take responsibility which led to having an abortion. Sarkodie released the diss track “try me.”

The book “I am not Yvonne Nelson” paints a grim picture of the actress’s experiences as a young woman navigating life faced with difficult choices. One was the decision to abort a pregnancy she carried for rapper Sarkodie.

In a response, Sarkodie described Yvonne as a ‘promiscuous woman made for the street’.

Parts of the lyrics reads:

“you gotta tell the world every god damn nigga you fckd

you can’t just play the victim and paint a picture like you were just looking for love from all the d*cks that you sucked”

His response received a lot of backlash from the public, describing some of his lyrics as “slut shaming”

Mr. Paul Adom Otchere in his opinion, said the best thing was for Sarkodie to apologize to the public and Yvonne

“For all what it’s worth, I think that Sarkodie owes Yvonne and the book readers a certain apology, it is true that Yvonne has brought out something she shouldn’t have, she is trying to play victim and take advantage of the story but it is a true story, so he should have apologised to the general public and say, I’m sorry I was too young because you don’t want young boys to think that it is okay to have unprotected sex and impregnate a woman and you both agree to abort.”

Additionally, he asserted that it is untrue that Sarkodie did not have a personal physician at the time of Yvonne’s abortion because he was doing okay as a musician.

“We cannot call Sarkodie poor in 2010, he wasn’t as big as he is today like the BET level but he was not bad”

As someone who invests so much in his public image, Mr. Adom Otchere thinks this is a PR fiasco for Sarkodie

“In terms of PR, his apology should have come first”
