Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has encouraged the Ghanaian government to put policies in place to guarantee that institutions are operating effectively and to promote growth in important sectors.
The traditional chief voiced dissatisfaction with Accra being as the home of the majority of government ministries and offices, which he says is impeding progress and equitable growth across the country.
Okyenhene claims that the lack of justification for some ministries’ location in the Greater Accra Region is the reason behind his call for decentralization.
He mentioned the Ministries of Agriculture and Lands and Forestry as two instances of ministries that need to be relocated from Accra when addressing a recent gathering.
