I DISAGREE WITH THE CLAIM WE’VE LOST OUR SOUND – Samini

samini

Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall artist, Samini has stated that he vehemently disagrees with anyone who thinks Ghana’s music has lost its originality.

The musician claimed in a recent Property FM interview that he has been continuously producing “Samini music” for the previous 20 years and that this continues to be his unique sound.

Samini underlined that there is a recurring theme in his musical approach that can be heard when comparing his songs from the past with those from the present.

He confidently stated, I don’t think we’ve lost our sound, so I don’t share the same sentiments or views.”

Samini went down memory lane by mentioning a song from his classic tune  “Where My Baby Dey” and remarked that the core of his musical character has not changed.

He claims that Ghana’s musical identity has not faded with time, and the distinct tone that characterizes his creativity has endured.

“Because I’ve been creating Samini music for the past two decades and that’s what I’m about.

“So if you listen to good vibes today and you go and listen to where my baby dey you’d know that it’s the same guy,” he added on the show.
