KUAMI EUGENE’S ‘MONICA’ WILL BE A STRONG COMPETITION FOR KING PROMISE’S ‘TERMINATOR’ AT NEXT VGMAS– RTP’s Prince Mackay

Event entrepreneur Prince Mackay has intimated that come the 2024 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, King Promise’s Terminator will be beaten by Kuami Eugene’s Monica in the Most Popular Song of the Year category.

He spoke to sit-in host Prince Benjamin (PB) on Accra 100.5 FM’s Entertainment Capital, Saturday, November 25, 2023.

Kuami is “so powerful,” he can far exceed our expectations, Prince Mackay said.

The CEO of the popular annual Radio and Television Personality Awards, he observed that “for some time,” the serial hitmaker has not seen much commercial success with his new releases “but Monica has lifted him up again”.

Upon his first radio listen, Mackay noted, he knew “this was a hit,” adding the song was released “just at the right time”.

Prince Mackay declared: “Considering how successful the song has been this month, December will be for Kuami Eugene.”

What is more, “this song will competitively bother Terminator,” he added.

He asserted his position, saying “God’s hand is on me.

This song, Monica, will be a strong competition for Terminator come next year, for song of the year,” he doubled down. “You just watch what will happen.”

Observing that “just a month ago, everyone thought it was going to be an easy win for King Promise,” he stressed his point and clarified this was his sole opinion with no financial influence from Highlife star Eugene.

He noted Eugene and his record label mate KiDi are two musicians who have enjoyed the most repeat business for his Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards event.

“Five consecutive years,” he said, pointing out why: “It so happens that every year when the event happens, they are the ones on top and we go for the artistes who are hot at the time.”
