I WANT TO WIN AFCON AND WORLD CUP – GFA President, Kurt Okraku

Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Okraku has reiterated his resolve to make a significant contribution to Ghanaian football history.

Okraku’s commitment is in response to criticism levelled at the Black Stars’ recent performances, namely their inability to go past the group stages of the Ivory Coast AFCON 2023.

Addressing a press conference in Kumasi on Wednesday, Okraku emphasised his ambition to win major international tournaments, including the AFCON and the FIFA World Cup.

“I want to win the AFCON; I want to win the World Cup!” Okraku declared. “I want to win every competition Ghana finds itself. This is the collective belief and mindset of my fellow Executive Council members.”

In his latest remarks, Okraku reiterates his past pledges to transform Ghanaian football and make the nation a major force in the African game.

But there has been controversy during his time as GFA President, including claims of wrongdoing and corruption in the organization.

Okraku feels upbeat about the future of Ghanaian football in spite of these obstacles.

He points to the nation’s long tradition of producing gifted athletes as well as the continuous work being done to modernize the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence as proof of the advancements being achieved.

“I want to position the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence very well and make it an enviable international standard,” he said.
