With few months left in his term, politician and entertainment analyst Kwame Obeng Asare, often known as A Plus, has charged President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of forgetting his difficult journey to the presidency.
A Plus admitted that he was among those who positioned Akufo-Addo as the top candidate in 2016 during a tirade on UTV over the weekend (April 27). He also called Akufo-Addo’s victory a fraud on the people of Ghana.
During his lengthy tirade, he addressed a number of topics and mentioned a recent viral video in which Akufo-Addo is shown insisting that some chiefs get up so he can shake their hands.
The president can be seen walking to greet traditional chiefs at what appears to be a funeral in the 12-second video.
However, the president and one of his bodyguards are seen motioning for some of the chiefs to stand up before he welcomes them, in what could be considered a normal action
“If you rely on Akufo-Addo, he would disappoint you. He is seeing out his term, he has scammed everyone. He begged for votes, today he says chiefs should stand to greet him.
“He is done, and is now sitting on a high horse without regard for anyone, he is done and has gone tone deaf with few months to the end of his tenure. He doesn’t care whether you sleep in darkness or whatever,” A Plus submitted.
The president’s location and the nature of the ceremony remain unknown, but the video quickly gained popularity on social media as additional users shared clips of Akufo-Addo standing up to welcome seated chiefs.
