‘I ONLY WANTED TO TAKE A 3-YEAR BREAK AND IT BECAME A DECADE’ – Nana Fynn Explains Absence From Music

Renowned Highlife artiste, Nana Fynn now rebranded as 2Lock has opened up about his long break from the music scene.

In an exclusive interview with 3Xtra, Nana Fynn known for monster hit songs like ‘Menkoaa’, Odo Handkerchief, ‘Romeo’ and others said he only wanted to take a short break from music and ended up spending over a decade away from music.

Nana Fynn has been out of the music scene and not release songs since 2014.

“I haven’t hidden myself. One circumstance led to the other. I took a hiatus from music somewhere in 2014. I just wanted to take a three-year break and it has become a decade break,” she stated in an interview with King Kwaku Mensa.

Nana Fynn who has now changed his stage name to 2Lock and is seeking to rebrand said he however, released a song prior to the COVID-19 but promotion of the song was disrupted because of the pandemic.

“I feel I am on a new mission and I am going to do more reggae for that new mission because there are message that must go worldwide,” he explained his rebranding.

Although, he is rebranding to a reggae musician, 2Lock noted that he has not completely moved away from highlife and he’s open to performing his hit songs to Ghanaians.

In 2000, Nana Fynn released his first album ‘Ankwansema’. The second album ‘Odo handkerchief’ was released in 2001. This was followed by ‘Dokodoko’ in 2003 with the hit song ‘I do’.

He released another album, Magic in 2005 with ‘Romeo’ as the hit song. In 2008, Nana Fynn dropped the ‘Twe Wo Ho’ album.
