Ghanaian Afrobeats artist, King Promise responded to critiques regarding his relationship with his close friend and socialite, Efia Odo.
King Promise revealed that he has known Efia Odo for more than eight years and she has been a great support to his career.
The artist behind the hit song ‘Terminator’ informed Kwadwo Sheldon during an interview that even before becoming famous, he had a close friendship with Efia, showing their strong bond.
King Promise stated that he would not terminate his friendship with Efya Odo simply because some individuals do not approve of her personality or behaviour.
“I don’t know. I have asked some of my friends why they don’t like her, but they can’t give me a reason. Maybe it’s because they don’t appreciate her character, but for me, I appreciate her uniqueness.
“I’ve known Efia for about eight years, long before I gained fame and she has always been supportive of everything I do. So why should I abandon my friend just because you don’t like her? Does that make sense? It certainly doesn’t make sense,” King Promise stated in an interview with YouTuber, Kwadwo Sheldon.
King Promise’s response comes in the midst of backlash from fans and social media users who are questioning their friendship and urging King Promise to keep his distance from her.
Before the TGMA event, Efia was backing King Promise and wishing for the artist to win the Artiste of the Year award. In her opinion, King Promise’s achievement surpasses all other nominees in the category and merits the award.
They have been spotted together in public multiple times, including at the recent TGMA’s and the artist’s music video filming.
