MUSIGA RENEWS LIFE INSURANCE SCHEME, URGES MEMBERS TO SUBSCRIBE

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has renewed its welfare policy with the State Insurance Company, for the third year.

The President of the union, Bessa Simons, has therefore called on the members to subscribe to the MUSIGA SIC-Life Insurance scheme to realize the benefits of the scheme.

Bessa Simons was speaking at a ceremony to sign the agreement for the scheme. He indicated that this is the third year of the Life Insurance scheme for MUSIGA members.

He noted that over the three-year period, various members all over the country have been beneficiaries of the scheme saying that is the reason why members have to subscribe.

“Accidents and emergencies are unannounced and they confront us when we least expect hence the need to be protected against such unfortunate occurrences,” Bessa Simons noted.

On his part, the MUSIGA General Secretary, S.K Agyemang expressed his excitement at the signing of the contract. He noted that the scheme is a buffer against unforseen challenges and also encouraged all musicians to sign up to the scheme,” he said.

Under the scheme, families that lose a MUSIGA member who is subscribed to the scheme will receive GHC 5,000.00 apart from other benefits such as permanent disability support, child benefit and parental benefits among others.

On his part, Andrew Adu-Asante of the Corporate Group Business department of SIC-Life congratulated MUSIGA for such an intiative which would benefit its members.

SIC Life was represented by Andrew Adu Asante, Elliot Botchway and Alfred Codjoe- Corporate Group Business Department. Others were Mary-Joan Acheampomaa and Ampem Loretta Yamnobiya Anafu of the Group Underwriting Department.
