Veteran journalist and host of the entertainment review show on Peace FM, Kwasi Aboagye has warned Stonebwoy, a Dancehall artist, against sharing money with his fans while on the street.
During his introduction to the Entertainment Review program, Kwasi Aboagye specifically mentioned Stonebwoy and cautioned him against the habit of distributing money to fans in public.
In his opinion, these actions could endanger both the artist and their supporters.
“I don’t want to begin today’s show with music, I want to start by advising, Stonebwoy. Stonebwoy, I am sure you know we love you and your music, recently one other singer was found sharing money on the streets and I warned against that because such acts can bring us bad news.
“I don’t want that unfortunate thing to happen before we start cautioning against it. I think maybe Stonebwoy has been introduced to doing that, recently he was on his way to Akropong after his graduation and he was taped sharing money to fans on the road. I am warning against it because it can lead to road accident, and many people can die from it.”
The experienced journalist also showed dissatisfaction with certain individuals from the Ghana Armed Forces and the Ghana Police Service who were spotted taking money from Stonebwoy while reaching out their hands and heads from their vehicles.
“What disturbs me the most is the men from the Ghana Armed Forces and the police, who acted in an indiscipline manner. They are the reason most people no longer respect officers of both security institutions,” he said
He then called on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah to put his men who acted that way in check.
He said, “Has the CDS seen the videos, or do I have to officially submit them to him? So that they speak and put those soldiers in check. It is a shame.”
