Renowned for his popular track “Ekorso” which originated from the trending Kumerica/Asakaa movement, Kofi Jamar made an appearance on GTV’s lively entertainment program, Spectacle, hosted by Hagar Owusu and Kojo Kinn, airing every Friday at 8 pm.
For Kofi, the rejection experienced by emerging artists from industry insiders before achieving success can cause them to become arrogant and aloof when they reach their peak.
Kofi Jamar also noted that emerging artists are often not given the respect they deserve and are frequently disappointed by certain figures in the industry until they start to gain popularity.
This leads to these artists responding in different ways to certain individuals or situations, causing people to perceive them as arrogant.
“I understand some of my colleagues when they get to the top and ignore certain people in the industry because rejection as a budding artiste in the industry is mad. When you are down, there’s no one there to help you climb up,” he said.
When asked about his social media comments about the media, he elaborated that artists are not given respect or interview opportunities when they are not popular, but are sought after when they become popular.
He stated that this is not benefiting the sector.
