Ghanaian media personality and former host of ‘Greetings from Abroad,’ Nana Adwoa Awindor has given valuable advice to young individuals about selecting a life partner.
Addressing attendees at the 2024 Youth Week event at the Assemblies of God Cedar Mountain Chapel in Accra, she recommended that young people select spouses who have a sense of humor.
“I would advise the young ones to marry somebody who can be your friend. Someone who would like to laugh with you, smile with you, cry with you, or joke with you. Very importantly, joke with you!” she emphasized.
She emphasized the significance of humor in relationships, pointing out that using jokes to address serious issues can reduce tension in the marriage.
“In Ghana, one thing that has helped us is that we joke about everything, including serious issues. And because we joke about these things, we soften the tension. That should be part of our lives as a family, as a couple,” she added.
Awindor suggested that young individuals seek out a spouse who can provide understanding and assistance in their marital relationship.
“You should look out for somebody who can accommodate you, who is ready to come halfway to meet your needs, to meet your excitement, and who is ready to support you as you grow,” she said.
