Samuel Inkoom, a former Black Stars player, is facing allegations of scamming Doris Dankwa and her fiancé, Seth Osei Addai, out of $8,000.
The pair, wanting to move to the United States, allegedly reached out to Inkoom, thinking he could help them with their journey. Inkoom reportedly convinced them to transfer USD 4,000 individually for visa processing services, which they sent via Doris’s father, John Dadzie.
However, once he received the money, Inkoom did not fulfill his promise and could not be reached. Feeling irritated by the absence of communication, the couple reported to the police, leading to an investigation. Despite efforts to reach him, Inkoom avoided being arrested at first. With the assistance of his previous team, Hearts of Oak, he was eventually captured.
During his court appearance on July 23, 2024, at the Kwabenya Circuit Court, Inkoom asked for more time to pay back the money. He stated that he was in the process of selling his properties to gather the required funds. The court approved his petition and established a new due date of October 31, 2024.
The court will keep listening to the case as the legal proceedings progress in the upcoming months.
