The Apostle General of Royal House Chapel International, Sam Korankye Ankrah believes that the indiscipline demonstrated by Democracy Hub protesters was fueled by hunger and frustrations in the country.
An Accra Circuit Court has remanded approximately 39 protesters for participating in various illegal activities at the democracy hub.
They will remain in police and prison custody for a period of 2 weeks before they are taken back to court.
However, when discussing the matter at church on Sunday, September 29, 2024, Sam Korankye Ankrah, in his plea on their behalf, mentioned that the lack of discipline shown during the protest worsened their frustrations and discontent with the system.
“They went overboard, but when somebody is hungry they become angry as well and so if you want to punish them for expressing their anger and the hunger also kill them and very soon we shall be losing all our young men and our young women.
So as a father of this nation, I’m asking that our sons have erred, let’s forgive them, throwing them behind bars will not solve any problem. Let’s release them and we are advising everyone that when you are going to have your democratic demonstrations, please march and your placards are all we want to see, we don’t want violence,” he said.
