GALAMSEY FIGHT: NANA ADDO IS GIVING US ‘YEN TIE OBIA VIBE’ – John Dumelo

Actor and politician, John Dumelo has claimed that President Nana Akufo-Addo is ignoring the current uproar over illegal mining in the country.

During the 3-day protest, John Dumelo was interviewed by Joy News and asked the President about the legacy he intended to leave.

“Akufo-Addo is giving the ‘I don’t care vibes, yen tie obiaa vibes’ but I  don’t think that’s the kind of uncouth legacy he wants to leave which is the galamsey menace”. He stated

The Parliamentary Candidate for Ayawaso West Wuogon also refuted allegations that the NDC opposition party is exploiting the galamsey issue to gain support from the public.

He stressed that Ghanaians are protesting to push the government to take action, highlighting the pollution of water bodies and destruction of forest reserves.

The actor was disappointed with the Minister of Natural Resources, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor for not speaking out about the degradation of forest reserves and water bodies.

“I don’t want to make comparisons, but during the NDC era, the water wasn’t this polluted”, Dumelo reminded the President to keep his promise to the citizens, stating that he had pledged to put his Presidency at risk to address the issue of galamsey.
