Nana Aba Anamoah has commended Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for his comprehensive strategy in tackling illegal mining, also known as galamsey.

In a stakeholder meeting, Dr. Bawumia presented a detailed plan to address the issues in the small-scale mining industry. His strategy involves giving more power to the Geological Survey Authority to create precise maps of mineral deposits and establishing an equipment reservoir to promote sustainable mining methods.
He also emphasized the importance of using gold-catching machines that are free of mercury to promote environmentally conscious mining.
In response to these suggestions, Nana Aba approved and recognized the Vice President’s thorough grasp of the complexities related to galamsey. She observed that his approach provides practical answers to address the issue efficiently.
