Highlife singer, Ofori Amponsah expresses sadness for Ghanaians who put their lives in danger to seek better opportunities abroad that may not exist.
He believes that Ghana has great potential and opportunities in comparison; nevertheless, due to the desire to take shortcuts, many fail to recognize the abundant opportunities available.
Ofori Amponsah revealed this information while speaking on TV3 in Accra.
The music legend recognized that even though the country might have its own unique obstacles, individuals who are willing to alter their narratives will consistently find chances to bring about the necessary transformation.
“What we are facing is that we are facing external shocks, I did economics in school and so I understand the system. What I feel for this nation, especially when I see people on ships going to Italy, I cry in my heart because there are so much opportunities in this country that people don’t see.
When it comes to farming there is a lot but people don’t love what will bring them money, everyone wants to cut corners for money and when everybody is cutting corners for money what economy do we have?
That is why I’m saying that we have to do an introspection as a country because one party cannot do it so we have to come together to fix this country,” he said.
