Ghanaian radio presenter, Nana Romeo lamented the loss of Akua Donkor, the Ghana Freedom Party’s presidential candidate, stating that her death could have been avoided if there was an ICU at Nsawam Government Hospital.
Reports of Donkor’s demise emerged this morning, indicating that she died at approximately 10 p.m. the night before.
Akua Donkor, founding member of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), was said to have been hospitalized at Nsawam Government Hospital due to respiratory problems. Because there was no ICU available, she was transferred to Ridge Hospital where she passed away.
Nana Romeo voiced his concerns: “If Nsawam Hospital had an ICU, Akua Donkor might still be with us. Imagine the distance from Nsawam to Ridge for a patient with breathing issues. The roads are under construction, slowing down the ambulance. Traffic is an added challenge, preventing the speed needed in an emergency like this.”
