In an emotional video statement, Obofowaa, the wife of popular Ghanaian preacher Reverend Obofour, addressed persistent rumors accusing her of being involved in a same-sex relationship. The public figure, also known as Queen Ciara, denied the allegations, expressing frustration at what she described as an ongoing campaign to tarnish her reputation.
“For weeks, I’ve seen strangers on social media talk about me and my family, spreading false information and accusing me of things I haven’t done,” she said. “They even drag my husband’s name into it, attaching his image to these rumors as if that will make their stories more believable. It’s heartbreaking.”
Obofowaa made it clear that she has never been caught in any compromising situation with another woman, nor has anyone ever witnessed her engaging in such behavior. “If there’s anyone who claims they’ve seen me involved with another woman, they’re lying,” she asserted. “I have been married to my husband for 14 years because I love him and am committed to him.”
She warned those fueling the rumors, emphasizing that she will not engage in a back-and-forth battle on social media. Instead, she said, she leaves the matter to God, believing that divine intervention will reveal the truth. “If I am guilty of what they’re saying, then let God punish me,” she declared. “But if I am innocent, as I know I am, I trust God will protect me and my family from this disgrace.”
Obofowaa’s statement highlights the impact of social media speculation on personal lives, particularly when public figures are targeted. Her response is a plea to end the unfounded rumors and a call for her critics to show restraint and respect.
