Leading member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Ekow Spio Garbrah believes that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo deceived the citizens of Ghana with his mastery of the English language.
He believed that when Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo plagiarized speeches from American presidents, it should have been a warning to Ghanaians that he was not trustworthy.
He is concerned that the president did not apologize to the people of Ghana when the copied speech was discovered.
“He played a very nice con artist game on Ghanaians because he speaks well because he was trained in England, so nice English language and nice rhetoric.
The first sign was when he plagiarized big words and and stole the language of former Presidents of the United States at his inauguration.
That was the first sign that he was somebody coming to steal things, and he has never never apologized for that. Using other people’s work in an examination anywhere you’ll fail,” he said on Channel One TV in an interview.
He believes the most concerning thing was the slogans used during the 2016 campaign that persuaded Ghanaians to believe in his vision, which ultimately proved to be false.
