ABEIKU SANTANA’S CRITICISM OF THE STREAMING APP IS OUT OF IGNORANCE – NPP’s National Organizer, Nana B

National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Henry Nana Boakye has strongly criticized recent comments made by popular media personality Abeiku Santana about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s proposal to launch a music streaming app for Ghana’s creative sector.

Abeiku Santana doubted the value and likelihood of success of the initiative, labelling it as yet another trick.

During an interview on Kingdom FM, Nana Boakye criticized Abeiku Santana’s remarks, describing them as ignorant and malicious. Boakye emphasized that someone as influential as Abeiku should not make dismissive comments without fully grasping the situation.

Abeiku Santana doubted the effectiveness and likelihood of success of the initiative, labelling it as another misleading tactic.

“How can someone like Abeiku speak like this? His comments show a lack of insight and are clearly intended to mislead,” Boakye said.

Abeiku Santana mentioned past apps like Ghana Post GPS and the COVID-19 tracker app created during Dr. Bawumia’s time, stating they had little effect on Ghanaians.

He indicated the planned streaming app would be another unsuccessful venture.

“This is what they do to deceive us.

The app won’t go anywhere, just like the others,” Abeiku stated.

Nevertheless, Nana Boakye objected to these statements, stating that Ghana’s capabilities should not be measured against those of Nigeria, a country Abeiku highlighted as not having its own national streaming application despite its sizable population and successful music sector.

“The fact that Nigeria doesn’t have a streaming platform doesn’t mean we can’t have one here,” Nana Boakye emphasized.

He also pointed out Ghana’s capacity to make courageous decisions in governance and innovation, citing the Free SHS policy as evidence of Ghana’s progressiveness in comparison to Nigeria.

“Ghana has Free SHS; Nigeria doesn’t.

This shows we are capable of taking initiatives that benefit the people,” he stressed.

Nana Boakye expressed satisfaction that many Ghanaians had criticized Abeiku Santana for what he termed a “loose comment.”

He reiterated his confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s vision for the streaming app, noting that it would revolutionize the creative industry.

“I’m happy Ghanaians have taken Abeiku on for his careless remarks. Dr. Bawumia will deliver on this venture, and it will benefit our artists and the industry at large,” Boakye assured.
