Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram,Sam Nartey George has strongly suggested that the NDC caucus has no plans to return to Parliament.
He has stated that the country is three weeks away from elections and there is no requirement for the NDC Parliamentarians to return to Parliament.
Even if the Speaker of Parliament summons Parliament, he believes they will not return to the House.
Making this position known while speaking on TV3’s Key Points, Sam George said “any attempt to recall us will be an exercise in futility. We won’t come because we have just three weeks to the elections”.
The Speaker of Parliament had to adjourn Parliament sine die because the NPP members did not show up for the last sitting even though they had requested for Parliament to be recalled.
In the meantime, Ghana’s Supreme Court decided that the Speaker was wrong to declare four Parliament seats empty; Alexander Afenyo Markin wants the Speaker and NDC caucus to honor the ruling.
