Radio and television broadcaster Afia Pokua, popularly known as Vim Lady, has criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to protect and foster strong relationships with their statesmen.
According to her, even before the death of the founder of their political party, their relationship with him had deteriorated to the point that he endorsed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
It is about time the NDC considers how it treats its constituents and actively engages them, rather than sidelining them, as they play crucial roles that may not be fully recognized.
“If Rawlings was alive and he endorsed you people, you would not have had problems. In 2016, one of the reasons why the NPP won was because of Rawlings. Why didn’t you people manage him well enough that he had to go to the Akufo-Addo camp?
I have repeatedly stated that they should involve the individuals who worked with Rawlings, as their expertise is needed. However, they have chosen to sideline them. When people began insulting the Otumfuo, the NDC should have condemned such behavior, but they did not, which is concerning.
The NDC’s stronghold is also the Ashanti Region, as the 27% of votes you received in the previous elections negated many of the votes in the Volta Region. Therefore, if your supporters begin to insult their Otumfuo, you must put an immediate stop to it,” she stated on Accra-based OKAY FM.
