The outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has suggested that a new phase of her life is beginning after her loss in the recent parliamentary elections.
In a Facebook post made on Saturday, December 14, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation wrote, “Next chapter in my life unfolding, so let’s see what He (God) has in store for me.”
In the announcement, the departing minister expressed gratitude to God for the chance to serve the nation during the last eight years.
“Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to serve,” she said.
She also expressed gratitude to her constituents, saying, “Thank you, Ablekuma West!! Sayonara.” The MP emphasized that she is looking “into the future with confidence.”
The Communications Minister was defeated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Rev. Kweku Addo, in last Saturday’s polls.
Rev. Addo won the parliamentary election with 31,866 votes, while Mrs Owusu-Ekuful trailed with 26,575.
She is among some notable NPP MPs who have lost their seats to NDC.
