The MP for Effutu Awutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has provided perspectives on the present political landscape after the recent general election.
The exiting Majority Leader of Parliament observed that there are indications of internal conflicts within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which he feels will eventually influence the party’s future.
Looking back on Monday’s parliamentary session, Afenyo-Markin noted, “In Parliament on Monday, we already witnessed several things.
He suggested that there are underlying tensions within the NDC, which could become more apparent in the years approaching the 2028 elections.
Nonetheless, when asked for specifics about which MPs participated in these leadership talks, Afenyo-Markin remained tight-lipped.
Afenyo-Markin also conveyed his conviction that the public will soon recognize the true character of the NDC and may regret their decision in the 2024 elections.
“I am confident that the public will soon see the true nature of the NDC and may regret giving them power in the just-ended general election,” he added, suggesting that the NDC’s actions and internal conflicts may have consequences for their political standing in the future.
