Former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Freddie Blay, has strongly defended President Nana Akufo-Addo, dismissing claims labeling him as Ghana’s worst president.
In an interview on Asempa FM, Blay expressed dismay at criticisms of Akufo-Addo’s leadership, emphasizing the president’s significant contributions to Ghana’s development.
“I find it disheartening when people call Nana Akufo-Addo the worst president. It’s unfair, and I completely disagree. Yes, he’s made some mistakes—as any leader would—but that doesn’t erase the immense contributions he’s made to Ghana,” Blay remarked.
While acknowledging the economic challenges faced by the nation, Blay highlighted the president’s achievements, including the implementation of the Free Senior High School program and key infrastructure projects. He argued that these initiatives are evidence of Akufo-Addo’s commitment to national progress.
“Let’s be honest with ourselves. No government has ever been perfect. But the strides this administration has made, especially in education and infrastructure, are remarkable. Nana Akufo-Addo deserves recognition for that,” he added.
Blay also called on Ghanaians to adopt a fair and balanced perspective when evaluating leadership, urging them to focus on constructive criticism rather than outright condemnation.
