Kwame Asare-Obeng, the Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central Constituency, has delivered a firm ultimatum to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service concerning the advancement of the inquiry into the killing of journalist Ahmed Suale.
In a post on social media, the MP disclosed that he was asked to visit the CID headquarters last year to give information pertinent to the case.
In that meeting, he pointed out a prominent minister from the former government as supposedly connected to hiring attackers to commit the crime.
He revealed his source to the CID director, highlighting its reliability.
However, Mr. Asare-Obeng raised concerns regarding the absence of transparency and advancement in the investigation, emphasizing that the issue seems to have been overlooked.
He has urged the CID director to present an update to the public within 48 hours, along with reasons for any delays in the case.
