PRESIDENT MAHAMA APPOINTS JUSTINA NELSON AS ACTING CEO FOR MIIF

In a move to bolster the leadership of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund (MIIF), President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Ms. Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer. The appointment, announced on January 14, 2025, aligns with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 21(2) of the Minerals Income and Investment Fund Act, 2018 (Act 978).

Ms. Nelson, an accomplished banking professional with over two decades of experience, brings a wealth of expertise to the role. She currently serves as a Group Head at Zenith Bank (Ghana) Limited, where she oversees operations in both the Energy and Commercial Banking sectors.

Her academic credentials further solidify her readiness for this position. Ms. Nelson holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Corporate and Commercial Law and a Master’s in Business Administration (Marketing) from the University of Ghana. Additionally, she has earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Psychology from the University of Ghana.

The Minerals Income and Investment Fund plays a pivotal role in managing Ghana’s mineral revenues to support national development initiatives. Ms. Nelson’s extensive background in banking and law is expected to contribute significantly to the Fund’s objectives of ensuring sustainable and efficient mineral revenue management.

The announcement was made through a statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Acting Spokesperson to the President.
