PRESIDENT MAHAMA APPOINTS MALIK BASINTALE AS ACTING CEO OF YEA

President John Dramani Mahama has named Malik Basintale as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), effective January 27, 2025.

The appointment follows the resignation of Kofi Baah Agyepong, the outgoing CEO, who officially steps down on January 24, 2025. Agyepong cited personal commitments and aspirations as the reasons for his decision to leave the role he has held for two years.

In his resignation letter addressed to President Mahama, Agyepong described his tenure as “an honour and a privilege,” expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve. He stated, “I am formally resigning my resignation as the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) Chief Executive Officer, effective 24th January 2025.”

He further expressed optimism about the agency’s future, adding, “I am confident in the continued success of YEA and wish you, Mr. President, the wisdom and strength to lead the nation.”

Malik Basintale, known for his dynamic presence in Ghana’s political landscape, takes over at a critical time for YEA, which remains a key driver of employment initiatives for the nation’s youth. His appointment signals fresh leadership aimed at sustaining and expanding the agency’s impact.

Basintale will officially begin his tenure on Monday, January 27, 2025.
